# Shredify > Shredify is a workout tracker and calorie/macro counter in one app. It gives you a lifting plan, logs every set and PR, tracks calories and macros (barcode scan, food search, AI photo logging), and adds streaks, squads, weekly challenges, strength ranks and gym leaderboards. Barcode scanning and food search are included on every plan for packaged food. ### How photo calorie counting works Open Eat, tap the camera and snap your plate. Shredify detects each food, matches it to a food database entry and estimates the portion. You see the breakdown (calories, protein, carbs, fat) item by item, fix anything it got wrong, and save. The whole flow takes a few seconds, which is the point: the meals you skip logging are the ones that stall a cut. ### How accurate is it? Honestly: it is an estimate. Independent tests of photo calorie apps in 2026 put typical errors somewhere around 5 to 20 percent, and every photo app struggles with the same things: hidden oil and butter, sauces, mixed dishes and portions stacked out of view. Shredify shows you the portion it assumed so you can correct it, and for anything with a label the barcode scanner gives you the exact numbers. Used daily, a fast estimate you actually log beats a perfect log you abandon by week two. ### Why log food in the same app as your training Calories and protein only matter relative to a goal. In Shredify, your food log sits next to your lifting plan, weigh-ins and the current seasonal arc (a cut, a lean bulk or a recomp), so your targets, streak and progress all read from one place instead of two subscriptions that never talk to each other. ### When to use photo vs barcode vs search Photo: restaurant meals, home cooking and anything without a label. Barcode: packaged food, protein bars, shakes. Search: quick single foods (an apple, 200 g of chicken breast). Recent and favorite foods make repeat meals one tap. ### How to 1. Open Eat: Tap Eat in Shredify and choose the camera. 2. Snap your meal: Take one clear, top-down photo of the plate. 3. Check the estimate: Review each detected food and adjust the portion if needed. 4. Save: Calories and macros are added to today and count toward your targets. Q: Is the AI photo scan free? A: Photo scanning is part of Shredify Pro ($19.99 a month or $99.99 a year on the web). Barcode scanning and food search are included in Base. Q: Can it see oil, butter or sauce? A: Not reliably. No photo app can. Add cooking oil or sauces as a separate item, or correct the estimate before saving. Q: Does it track macros or just calories? A: Both. Every scan estimates calories, protein, carbs and fat. Q: What phones does it work on? A: Shredify runs as a web app at app.getshredify.com on any modern phone and installs to the home screen. Android is in Google Play testing and the iPhone app is in App Store review. ## Macro Tracker App for Lifters (https://getshredify.com/macro-tracker) Shredify is a macro tracker built for people who lift: it tracks calories, protein, carbs and fat with barcode scanning, food search and (on Pro) AI photo logging, sets targets from your goal, and keeps your food log in the same app as your workout plan and PRs. ### Macros that follow your goal Pick a goal (cut, lean bulk or recomp) and Shredify sets daily calorie and macro targets, with protein front and center because it is the number lifters most often miss. On Pro, adaptive targets adjust as your weigh-in trend comes in, so the plan follows what your body is actually doing instead of a formula from day one. ### Fast logging, three ways Barcode scan for anything packaged, food search for single foods and AI photo logging (Pro) for real meals. Recents and favorites make the meals you eat every week a single tap. ### Built around training, not just food Most people who track macros seriously also lift, and on Reddit the standard advice is still "use one app for food and another for lifting." Shredify puts both in one place: today's workout, today's macros, your streak and your weigh-ins on one screen. ### Weigh-ins and progress photos Log your weight and Shredify shows the trend line rather than daily noise. Before/after photos stay private on your account unless you choose to share them. ### How to 1. Set your goal: Choose cut, lean bulk or recomp during setup. 2. Get your targets: Shredify sets calories, protein, carbs and fat for the day. 3. Log meals: Scan barcodes, search foods or snap a photo (Pro). 4. Weigh in: Log your weight a few times a week so targets can adapt (Pro). Q: Is barcode scanning included? A: Yes. Barcode scanning and food search are included on every plan, including Base. Q: Does Shredify have adaptive macros like MacroFactor? A: Shredify Pro adjusts calorie targets from your weigh-in trend. MacroFactor is a dedicated nutrition coach with a deeper algorithm; Shredify's advantage is that training, food and competition live in one app. Q: How much does it cost? A: Web prices: Base $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year, Pro $19.99 a month or $99.99 a year. App store monthly prices are higher. Q: Can I track a cut and a bulk? A: Yes. Shredify's seasonal arcs include cuts (New Year Reset, Summer Shred), a lean bulk (Bulk Season) and a recomp (Winter Arc), and you can set your own goal any time. ## Workout Log App: Sets, Reps, PRs (https://getshredify.com/workout-log) Shredify is a workout log app: it records every set, rep and weight, runs a rest timer between sets, flags personal records automatically, and keeps your full history. Start from a recommended Push/Pull/Legs plan, build your own routine, train CrossFit-style or add cardio. ### Log a set in two taps Your last session's weights and reps are pre-filled, so most sets are a tap to confirm. The rest timer starts on its own when you finish a set. Edit any workout afterwards from Train › History. ### Plans or your own routine New lifters get a Push/Pull/Legs plan by default. Prefer your own split? Build it in about a minute: pick exercises, sets and reps. You can switch plans whenever you want without losing history. CrossFit-style training logs WODs and benchmarks like Fran, Murph and Cindy, and cardio sits right in your routine. ### PRs you actually notice Shredify flags a PR the moment you hit one and keeps a record per exercise. Strength ranks show where your lifts stand, and the Day X card makes it easy to share a milestone. ### Streaks and squads keep you showing up The hardest part of a program is week six. Streaks (with streak freezes for real life), squads with friends and weekly challenges give you a reason to open the app on days you would rather not. ### How to 1. Pick a plan: Use the recommended Push/Pull/Legs plan or build your own. 2. Start the workout: Today's session opens with last time's numbers pre-filled. 3. Log each set: Confirm or edit weight and reps; the rest timer starts automatically. 4. Finish: Shredify saves the session, flags PRs and updates your streak. Q: Can I build my own routine? A: Yes. Choose "Build my own" and pick exercises, sets and reps. You can edit it any time. Q: Does it have a rest timer? A: Yes, it starts automatically after each set. Q: Can I log CrossFit WODs? A: Yes. CrossFit-style training logs WODs, benchmark workouts and key lifts. Q: Does it also track food? A: Yes. Calories and macros are tracked in the same app, which is the main difference from workout-only logs like Hevy or Strong. ## Progressive Overload App (https://getshredify.com/progressive-overload-app) Shredify is a progressive overload app: it reads the sets you logged last session and suggests the next target, either more weight or more reps, so each workout builds on the last. You always have the final say on every number. ### What progressive overload is Progressive overload means doing a little more over time: more weight, more reps at the same weight, or more quality sets. It is the most reliable driver of strength and muscle gain, and the most common reason people stall is simply not knowing what they did last time. ### How Shredify suggests your next set Every exercise remembers your last working sets. When you hit the top of your rep range, Shredify suggests adding weight; when you do not, it suggests beating last time's reps at the same weight. The suggestion is pre-filled, so progressing is the default, not an extra step. ### Double progression in practice Example: your plan says 3 sets of 8 to 12 on bench. You log 185 lb for 12, 11 and 10. Next time Shredify keeps 185 and nudges you toward 12 on every set. Once you hit 12, 12, 12, it suggests the next jump in weight and resets the reps toward 8. ### Overload needs fuel You cannot out-program a calorie deficit forever. Because Shredify tracks protein and calories in the same app, it is obvious when a stall is a food problem rather than a training problem. ### How to 1. Log a session: Record your working sets as usual. 2. Open the next session: Shredify pre-fills a target based on last time. 3. Beat it: Add the suggested weight or reps, or override with your own number. 4. Watch the trend: Exercise history and PR alerts show your progress over weeks. Q: Does Shredify auto-increase weight? A: It suggests it. You confirm or change every number. Q: Is this like RP Hypertrophy? A: RP Hypertrophy runs full mesocycles with volume adjustments from feedback and costs $34.99 a month. Shredify uses simpler last-session progression and adds nutrition tracking and social competition in the same app. Q: Which plan includes it? A: Progressive overload suggestions are part of Base. Q: Does it work with my own routine? A: Yes. Suggestions work on pre-made plans and on routines you build yourself. ## Gym Challenge & Leaderboard App (https://getshredify.com/gym-challenges) Shredify is a gym challenge app: it runs weekly challenges, squads with friends, strength ranks and the Hustle Index, a leaderboard that ranks gyms by workouts, streaks and challenges per member, so a small gym can beat a big one. Boards reset every seasonal arc, every quarter. ### Weekly challenges and squads Join a challenge (sessions this week, total volume, protein streak) solo or with a squad of friends. Squads see each other's check-ins, which turns "I'll go tomorrow" into "I'm not the one breaking the streak." ### The Hustle Index Most gym leaderboards reward whoever lifts the heaviest. The Hustle Index ranks gyms by consistency per member: workouts, streaks and challenge completions. A 40-member garage gym can top a big-box chain if its people show up. ### Seasons that reset The year runs in four arcs: New Year Reset (Jan to Mar), Summer Shred (Apr to Jun), Bulk Season (Jul to Sep) and Winter Arc (Oct to Dec). Every arc resets the boards, so if you start late you are never permanently behind, and every arc ends with a Wrapped recap (Pro). ### For gym owners Gyms can join the partner program at no cost: members get 2 months of Shredify Pro with no card needed, and the gym gets a leaderboard, a signup dashboard and a pin on the partner map. ### How to 1. Join or start a squad: Invite friends with a link. 2. Pick a challenge: Choose this week's challenge or create one for your squad. 3. Train and log: Every logged workout counts toward your streak, challenge and gym. 4. Climb the board: Check your rank, your squad and your gym on the Hustle Index. Q: Can my gym run its own leaderboard? A: Yes. Partner gyms get their own board and appear on the Hustle Index. See getshredify.com/gyms. Q: Do leaderboards reward only strong lifters? A: No. The Hustle Index rewards consistency per member. Strength ranks are separate. Q: When do boards reset? A: At the start of every seasonal arc: January, April, July and October. Q: Is it private? A: You choose what to share. Progress photos are private by default. ## MyFitnessPal Alternative: Shredify vs MyFitnessPal (https://getshredify.com/alternatives/myfitnesspal) Looking for a MyFitnessPal alternative? Shredify is a workout tracker and macro counter in one app. MyFitnessPal is a food diary first. Its workout logging exists but is basic, so most lifters pair it with Hevy or Strong. Barcode scanning has been a Premium feature since 2022, and its user-submitted database means entries vary in accuracy. Shredify combines lifting plans, set and PR logging, progressive overload, calorie and macro tracking (barcode, search and AI photo on Pro), plus squads, challenges and gym leaderboards. Q: Is Shredify better than MyFitnessPal? A: Pick MyFitnessPal if you only want a free food diary with the biggest database. Pick Shredify if you lift and want food, training and accountability in one app instead of two. Q: How much does MyFitnessPal cost? A: Free tier with search logging (with ads). Premium $19.99/month or $79.99/year; barcode, Meal Scan photo logging and voice are Premium features. (Checked October 2026; check their site for current prices.) Q: How much does Shredify cost? A: Web: Base $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year; Pro $19.99 a month or $99.99 a year. App store monthly prices are higher. Q: Can I switch from MyFitnessPal? A: Yes. Shredify is a workout tracker and macro counter in one app. Cal AI does one thing, photo calorie counting. Q: Is Shredify better than Cal AI? A: Pick Cal AI if photo logging is all you want. Pick Shredify if you want photo logging plus your training plan, PRs and streaks in the same place. Shredify combines lifting plans, set and PR logging, progressive overload, calorie and macro tracking (barcode, search and AI photo on Pro), plus squads, challenges and gym leaderboards. Q: Is Shredify better than Hevy? A: Pick Hevy if you only want to log lifts as cheaply as possible. Pick Shredify if you would otherwise pay for Hevy plus a food tracker. Q: How much does Hevy cost? Shredify combines lifting plans, set and PR logging, progressive overload, calorie and macro tracking (barcode, search and AI photo on Pro), plus squads, challenges and gym leaderboards. Q: Is Shredify better than Strong? A: Pick Strong if you want a minimal private log. Pick Shredify if you want plans, overload suggestions, macros and accountability on top. A: Shredify is a training and nutrition app in one place: workout plans and a logger with a rest timer and PRs, calorie and macro tracking, weigh-ins and private progress photos, plus streaks, squads, challenges and strength ranks. The year runs in four seasonal arcs (New Year Reset, Summer Shred, Bulk Season and Winter Arc), each with its own goals, leaderboards and a Wrapped recap. Q: Who is Shredify for? A: Anyone who lifts or wants to start. Plans cover recomp, hypertrophy, strength and fat loss, from 2 to 6 days a week, at a gym or with home gear. Shredify is for adults (18+). Q: Why do I have to be 18+? A: Shredify gives calorie targets, body-weight tracking and training plans built for adults, so accounts are 18+ only. Q: What devices does it work on? A: Right now Shredify runs as a web app at app.getshredify.com on any phone, tablet or computer, and you can add it to your home screen like an app. Native Android and iPhone apps are coming. Your account, plan and progress carry over when they land. Q: What’s the difference between Base and Pro? A: Base covers the core: pick or build a workout plan, the logger, rest timer and PRs, streaks, arcs and goals, barcode and search food logging with macros, weigh-ins and private before/after photos, and squads, challenges and ranks. Pro adds AI photo calorie scans, adaptive calorie targets, your arc Wrapped, ranked leagues and advanced stats. Q: How much does it cost? A: On the web: Base is $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year, and Pro is $19.99 a month or $99.99 a year. In the App Store and Google Play, monthly prices are higher (Base $14.99 a month, Pro $24.99 a month) and yearly prices are the same ($59.99 and $99.99). Taxes may apply. You always see the exact price before you pay. Q: What is the Custom Plan? A: A one-time $79 add-on: a 12-week training and meal plan built around your goal, schedule, equipment and injuries. It doesn’t renew. It’s sold on the web for now. Q: Can I cancel anytime? A: Yes. Cancelling stops all future renewals right away, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. How you cancel depends on where you subscribed (see the next question). Q: How do I cancel? A: Bought on the website (billed by Square): go to Settings › Subscription › Cancel subscription in the app or on the web. It’s one tap plus a confirmation. You can also email support@getshredify.com from your account email with “Cancel” in the subject. Bought in the iPhone app: open the Settings app › your name › Subscriptions › Shredify. Bought in the Android app: open Google Play › your profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › Shredify. Uninstalling the app or removing it from your home screen does not cancel a subscription. Q: Can I get a refund? A: Web payments are non-refundable except where the law requires it, and we don’t give partial refunds for unused time in a billing period. If something went wrong with a charge, email support@getshredify.com first, since we can usually sort billing issues out quickly. Purchases made through Apple or Google follow their refund policies, so request those from Apple or Google. Full details are in the subscription terms. Q: What workout plans are there? A: When you start, Shredify recommends a Push/Pull/Legs (PPL) plan by default, and the plan picker lets you choose another pre-made plan, build your own routine, or train CrossFit-style. You can switch plans any time without losing your history. Q: Can I build my own routine? A: Yes. Pick “Build my own” and choose your exercises, sets and reps. It takes about a minute, and you can edit it whenever you want. Q: Does Shredify do CrossFit? A: Yes. Train CrossFit-style to log WODs, benchmarks like Fran, Murph and Cindy, and your key lifts, ranked on the CrossFit board. Q: Can I log cardio? A: Yes. Cardio can go right into your routine alongside your lifts, so runs, rides, rows and other sessions get logged with the rest of your workout. Q: How does progressive overload work? A: Shredify tracks every set you log and suggests when to add weight or reps, so you keep progressing week to week. You always have the final say and can change any number. Q: Can I edit a workout after I finish it? A: Yes. Open Train › History, tap any workout and edit the sets, weights, notes and ratings. Q: How do photo calorie scans work? A: Photo scans are a Pro feature. Snap your meal and Shredify estimates calories and macros using real food databases, and you confirm the portion before saving. It’s an estimate, not exact, since AI can’t see hidden oils, sauces or exact portions. For packaged food, scan the barcode for the label numbers (that works on Base too). Q: I have a code. Where do I use it? A: Redeem codes on the website at app.getshredify.com or in the Android app. Once it’s redeemed, your access is tied to your Shredify account, so just sign in with the same account on any device, including iPhone. Q: Can I combine codes or discounts? A: No. Discounts and offers can’t be stacked. One code or offer applies at a time. Q: What do partner gyms get me? A: If your gym is a Shredify partner, scan its QR code or use its link to get 2 months of Pro free, with no card needed. When it ends, you pick a plan if you want to keep going, and nothing charges automatically. Partner gyms also compete on the Hustle Index, a leaderboard that ranks gyms by workouts, streaks and challenges per member, so a small gym can beat a big one. Find one on the partner gym map, or tell your gym about the partner program. Q: I’m a creator. Can I partner with Shredify? A: Yes. Our creator program pays you for members you bring in, with your own link and live tracking. Learn more and sign up at getshredify.com/creators. Q: Is my data private? A: Yes. Progress photos are private by default and only shared if you choose to. There are no ad pixels or advertising SDKs in the app, and we don’t sell your data. Read our privacy policy and health data policy. Q: How do I delete my account? A: In the app, open Settings › Your data › Delete my account and type DELETE to confirm. Your account and data are deleted right away. Deleting also cancels a web subscription, but App Store or Google Play subscriptions have to be cancelled in their store settings. More on deleting your account. Q: How do I contact support? A: Email support@getshredify.com and we’ll get back to you. More options are on the support page.
