Health & Fitness Disclaimer

Short version (in-app onboarding screen; user taps "I understand" to continue)

Train smart. Shredify isn't a doctor. Shredify gives general fitness and nutrition guidance for healthy adults 18+. It isn't medical advice and doesn't replace your doctor, a registered dietitian or a coach who can see you in person. Check with a doctor before you start if you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, diabetes, an injury, a history of disordered eating, are taking medication that affects your heart rate or blood pressure, or aren't sure you're ready. Stop and get help if you feel chest pain, dizziness, faintness or severe shortness of breath. Lifting and dieting carry real risks. You're in charge of what you lift and eat. 4. You've been diagnosed with another chronic medical condition (other than heart disease or high blood pressure).
  5. You take prescribed medication for a chronic condition.
  6. You have a bone, joint or soft-tissue problem that could get worse with exercise.
  7. A doctor has said you should only do medically supervised exercise.

If any answer is Yes: show "We recommend talking to your doctor before starting a new training plan. You can still set up Shredify, but please get cleared first and start light." plus a [Continue] button. Log that the user acknowledged it.

Full disclaimer

1. Not medical advice. Shredify, operated by ANA Enterprises LLC, provides general information about exercise, training and nutrition. Nothing in the Service, including workout plans, calorie and macro targets, adaptive calorie targets, progressive overload suggestions, protein tips, photo-based food estimates, strength scores, daily motivation or any communication from us, is medical, nutritional, psychological or other professional advice, diagnosis or treatment. Shredify doesn't create a doctor-patient, dietitian-client or coach-client relationship.

2. Talk to a professional. Consult a physician before beginning any exercise program, changing your diet or trying to lose or gain weight, especially if you have, or think you may have, any medical condition, are taking medication, are recovering from an injury or surgery, or have a history of an eating disorder. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something in Shredify.

3. Risks of physical activity. Strength training, conditioning and other exercise involve inherent risks, including muscle strains, joint and back injuries, fractures, heart attack, stroke and, rarely, death. Lifting near your maximum, attempting PRs and recording proof videos carry extra risk. Use proper form, warm up, use a spotter and safety equipment (such as safety bars or pins), know your gym's rules and never attempt a lift you can't do safely. Leaderboards, ranks and challenges are for motivation. Never risk your health to climb a board.

4. Nutrition and body weight. Calorie and macro targets are estimates based on formulas and the information you give us. Everyone's body is different. Shredify sets minimum calorie floors and limits recommended weight loss to about 1% of body weight per week, but these safeguards don't replace medical supervision. Don't follow a target that leaves you feeling unwell. Photo-based food logging is an estimate that can be off, sometimes by hundreds of calories (see the Photo Calorie Estimate Disclaimer).

5. Disordered eating and mental health. If tracking food, weight or your body is causing you stress, anxiety or unhealthy behaviors, you can hide calories and track only protein, turn off weigh-ins or take a break, and please reach out to a doctor or mental health professional. If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, US) or call 911. For eating-disorder support, the ANAD Eating Disorders Helpline (US, free) is 1-888-375-7767, Monday to Friday, 9am to 9pm Central.

6. Supplements and substances. Shredify doesn't recommend supplements, drugs or performance-enhancing substances. Content from other users isn't endorsed by us.

7. Results vary. Transformations, PRs and progress shown in Shredify, in user posts or in our marketing aren't typical or guaranteed. Your results depend on many factors, including genetics, consistency, sleep, diet, age and health.

8. Plans and content. Our plan library was designed according to standard strength-and-conditioning principles. That doesn't mean any plan is right for you. Exercise demonstrations and cues are general guidance, not individualized coaching.

9. Assumption of risk and release. By using Shredify, you acknowledge these risks, accept full responsibility for your decisions about exercise and nutrition, and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, release ANA Enterprises LLC and its members, managers, employees and contractors from claims arising from your physical activity or dietary choices, as further described in the Terms of Service.

10. Emergencies. Shredify isn't for emergencies. If you think you're having a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately.
